Lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI) is one of the most common type of infection. It is caused by viruses, bacteria, and other types of germs that cause a variety of symptoms, including cough, chest pain, and difficulty breathing.

The treatment of lower respiratory tract infection depends on the severity of the infection and the type of bacteria causing the infection. Viral infections usually resolve on their own without treatment, while bacterial infections require antibiotic therapy.
