Pindac is a cyanoguanidine drug that acts by opening ATP-sensitive potassium channels, leading to peripheral vasodilatation of arterioles and decreasing peripheral vascular resistance. The above processes result in reduced blood pressure. This drug has been discontinued by the FDA.
