How Albamycin works

Albamycin is an aminocoumarinthat works by inhibiting the GyrB subunit of the bacterial DNA gyrase enzyme involved in energy tranduction. Similar to other aminocoumarin antibiotics, it acts as a competitive inhibitor of the ATPase reaction catalysed by GyrB.
